My name is Álvaro Montoro and this is my creation. What began as a personal experiment became Galicia, a 16 km² map set in the province of Lugo and supported by the La Trinchera community.
This project was born from my passion for Arma and my desire to offer something new to the community. After many years playing and experimenting with maps that felt flat to me, I decided to try creating my own and, after several attempts, I ended up inspired by Galicia, specifically the province of Lugo. Thus Galicia was born, a 16 km² map designed for Conflict mode, with villages, mountains, winding roads, and secret corners that reward exploration.
When I first discovered Arma Reforger, I wasn’t convinced at first, but upon reconnecting with the La Trinchera community, I decided to give it a second chance. Tired of the same flat scenarios, I thought of creating my own map. Initially, I tried to recreate Córdoba and the Almodóvar Castle, but the terrain didn’t convey what I was looking for.
The idea changed when I moved the project north to Galicia, specifically to areas I knew well, like Armea, Vilasantán, and Láncara. There, everything started to come together with mountains, villages, cliffs, and winding roads that brought life to an environment perfect for Conflict mode.
The Trinchera community supported me from day one. I shared my progress on Discord and soon received an invitation from Roger to join the modders team. Thanks to that support, Galicia went from a personal experiment to a real community project.
The map includes unique details, like the redesigned Os Vaos and three secret easter eggs that reward exploration with limited supplies. Everything is designed to make the experience more immersive and fun.
Galicia has become part of the main La Trinchera server, which fills me with pride. Thanks to Serverse, the sessions are stable and smooth, even under heavy player loads.
